A Prayer to the Technical Godsposted by Vonessa at 1:07 PM
Tomorrow--oh my word, is it tomorrow?--we open Tearing the Loom, the fourth in our nine month marathon of productions. Although admittedly not as many light and sound cues as the previous three shows, still a technical breath holder. Spoiler alert! Before the gun comes out I say a silent prayer for it to go off. Two days ago, Michael (Samuel) used his knife to stab Eric (Harry) and an ad-libed line of biblical similarities when the gun failed to sound. Hard to mourn the death of my intended when I see him instantly die from a stab wound from which my brother takes 20 minutes to die. But isn't that what makes live theater so addictive? You just don't know what's going to happen. And at Furious Theatre you just don't know how someone is going to die.
