Congratulations to E.M. Lewis
posted by brad at 1:48 PMThe American Theatre Critics Association has selected E.M. (Ellen) Lewis' Song of Extinction to receive the 2009 Harold and Mimi Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award.
The announcement was made April 4 at Actors Theatre of Louisville during the Humana Festival of New American Plays, where critics have converged for a special industry weekend.

Thank you, Furious folks! It's pretty amazing. Wonderful, but unexpected!
I was glad to have seen work by Mr. El Guindi (one of the other finalists) first at your theater. I loved "Back of the Throat!" Hope to meet him sometime.
